On a recent cross country drive, Becky and I were able to express how the past five months have felt and affected us. Like most human conversations, many words were used but one stuck out in both of our expressions. We have felt overwhelmed.
Before you freak out and before you do not freak out...
Center yourself around the reality that being overwhelmed is not a purely negative state.
1. Overwhelmed by support.
Since going public, the amount of encouragement & buy-in we have received has been overwhelming. We are humbled by YOU (reading this right now) and so many others taking time out of your lives to invest and give/offer support. Our supporters span the continental US from every corner and in between. We are halfway to our goal 200 supporters by July 2021. Please consider spreading the word and sharing the supporter form. Here are some current stats.

2. Overwhelmed by the unknown
For so long, we have been building towards career and home life being more and more of what we know and can thrive in. Giving God our yes to plant & move, has thrown us into what only be described as "a constant reminder of our lack of control."
We don't know the answers to all of your questions.
We don't know the answers to most of our own questions.
We don't always know what to tell our kids or family members about this.
We don't know exactly where we will live or where I will work.
3. Overwhelmed by the known
This may be an incorrect way of putting it. As we seek, pray, study, and listen...we are learning just how much new churches are needed in so many areas of our world.
We know we are moving to Arvada, CO.
We have a launch team of 3 committed households making plans to move with us.
We have another 8 households sensing a call to join us.
We know we are starting a church for the post Christian world (70% Jefferson County).
We know life will never look the same again.
We know God is doing something new.
In my prayer and meditation time, this past week.
I complained to God.
I think that's ok, to complain and doubt.
I think God is big enough to receive that.
I (Jared) said, "I don't even feel like I know myself anymore."
His response was very clear.
"That's because I am doing something new in you."
4. Overwhelmed with purpose
Are we scared, not really.
Are we excited, sometimes.
Are we overwhelmed, sometimes.
Are we honored to be part of something new? Absolutely.
Is it worth it? Absolutely.
Thank you for reading
Thank you for your support.
